It was a beautiful day with sunshine and blue skies. I'm glad I was able to enjoy it. It's supposed to rain tomorrow and SNOW Sunday. Mother Nature is a big tease!
This little Tufted Titmouse had the feeder to itself, because it scared the other birds away. The birds are starting their spring courtships and are being more aggressive.
I read some interesting facts about their nesting habits. They nest in cavities they find, such as old woodpecker holes. Within the cavity, the nest is constructed of dry leaves, moss, or fragments of snakeskin, and lined with mammal hair.
Eeeewww! They aren't as cute to me now! LOL! The thought of snakeskin makes my skin crawl! :0)
To get the mammal hair, they are notorious for pulling hair from sleeping dogs, cats, and squirrels to line their nests! Now, I would really like to get a pic of that!
Thank you so much for your lovely comments on yesterday's Downy Woodpecker and Upside down bee!!! :0)
LOL about the snake. I have a couple in my house that my daughters collected when they were young. I think they're cool. Really cute bird and I am surprised that they are do tough
He's enjoying the whole dinner all to himself! Never noticed before how beautiful this feeder is! Beautiful dof and lovely little Titmouse. Interesting stuff that they put in that nest. Watch out for your lovely cats! Great shot. :)
Your feeder is the neighborhood hangout. Always something interesting for you to capture. Love the Titmouse, but even the hair and all its vermen get to me and the snakeskin..no way
@cjriggs Thank you so much for all your lovely comments on my pics! You are so kind and supportive. You always make me smile, when I need it the most. :0)
@marytj No, I didn't know. I have a new fascination with birds, since I started taking pics of them. I like to read about them, before I post their pics.
Beautiful as all you bird pic. thanks for the lines/story to.
They also use moss. and I grow that on my Bonsai`s . In spring it`s all gone and Mr.Nobody has fly away.
these are such pretty birds but I didn't know the part about them stealling hair - yikes! I have 2 poodles so when ever I cut their hair I throw it in the yard for the birds to use in their nests - I hope they take that as a peace offering!

It's cold and rainy here today! You can send the snow to Texas :)
