Wild Honeysuckle Ride by cjwhite

Wild Honeysuckle Ride

I watched this Carpenter Bee on the honeysuckle for awhile. He looked too heavy for the blooms. He fell off a couple of times. Obviously, it doesn't take much to entertain me. :0)

Thank you so much for stopping by my project! I'm having a hard time catching up with everyone's pics. I apologize if I haven't gotten to yours. :0)
LOL .... you are so much like me, Carolyn. I find this kind of thing so mesmerizing when looking through a lens. This is gorgeous ... color, clarity. All of it. Great capture.

Fantastic shot. Wonderful focus. I find nature so incredible, and the more time I'm spending on this project, the more I'm seeing and learning.

Well gosh a carpenter bee. Do they sting or just eat wood? Great capture you were very lucky he stuck around for so long.

Great shot! The bee looks like he's hanging on for dear life! :) I love the great focus you have on the bee.

@sailingmusic The females can be pesty. They drill holes in all types of wood to make cells for their eggs. They can make a mess of rafters and beams.

Amazingly clear details, looks like a macro shot but it isn't. From the Exif I see long lens tight aperture and quick shutter - there must have been lots of light ?? Still amazed !!

Another outstanding shot - The detail you get absolutely fascinates me - it's wonderful. Bees are the major living thing around here lately, too.

Free entertainment. You gotta love that!!! Great shot.

These bees always worry me. . .possibly because they've taken up residence in my mailbox!?! Wonderful clarity here, Carolyn!

LOL, did you giggle when he fell off? People may think photographers are a bit crazy, but hey, we can have fun, can't we?

Fab capture of the carpenter bee. I like them so much better on the flowers rather than drilling holes in the eaves ;-)
