The rain brought the hummingbirds out. This is a female Ruby-Throated Hummingbird.

Wonderful shot! We are in dire need of rain. A reprieve from this horrendous heat would be awesome! It reached +30C INSIDE my house yesterday. Today so far we have..... +28.5C. I guess that's better?.... Ugh. I would love to get some hummingbird shots... this one is lovely. Great catch!

@suomi Thank you! We had 12 straight days of 100+F. Our temps started going down a little yesterday, but the humidity is stiil high. Today is the first good rain we've had in a month. We need lots more! Everything is brown and crispy. The farmers are having a hard time.

Wonderful first shot! I got my very first frame of a hummingbird this week and had two in one frame yesterday but nothing's been post-able yet. And thank you for id'ing this as a female Ruby-throated; this is what I have been seeing! [In another matter, can't believe I wasn't Follow'ing you till now. Gah! sorry about that!]
