I was focused on the Green Metallic Bee, so I didn't notice the other funny little insect. I'm not sure what kind it is. There's an ant in the pic, too, but he blends in with the flower center in this pic.
I'm not good with flower names. This is my flower, but it's a volunteer from a mixed pack I planted last year. If you can identify it, I would love to know its name. :0)
The flower looks like a Plains Coreopsis. The Bee is a Halictid, perhaps Agapostemon. The little guy on the stem is a Mirid bug, probably the genus Parthenicus and the ant is too small to make out. Nice group shot!
We have lots of the Plains Coreopsis in bloom right now just like this. Guess we're just going to have to be happy with the nice "little" bugs since we can't find butterflies. You got a nice group shot!
