Lived, loved and forgotten? by clifford

Lived, loved and forgotten?

I visited my local church grounds to photograph the flowers. What struck me was how some of the gravestones appeared to be forgotten. This image summed it up for me: a gravestone with nature growing up all around. The gravestone is soft-focus, is that out of mind?
A very poignant image. The stories stored in the engravings on headstones are so varied - and often heart breaking.

@robz I spent an hour photographing beautiful flowers, but it was the uncared-for headstones that stopped me. I just felt, a life lived and now!!!

@clifford I know what you felt - we feel the same whenever we come across lonely pioneer grave-sites in the middle of nowhere...

Graveyards are an experience in themselves; they provoke sombre thoughts and emotions. Both the cared-for and the forgotten-about headstones and tombs - just makes you wonder and ruminate on all kinds of things.

What a sad scene, a life long forgotten.

@onewing That pretty much sums it up Babs. I take it also to mean: " make the most of what we have."
