A capture of a small section of the temple in Grand Baie I was at yesterday. (This temple is big, this really is just a tiny portion of it.) It's been wonderfully refurbished and renovated. The presence of pigeons and damp sea air had taken its toll over the years, and the building had been looking dull and neglected.
Inside is an undeniable air of calm and peace; there's something about the dark cool interior that has some kind of magical effect on a person. It’s an inexplicable sensation, but there’s some special aura in that place. It’s pretty cool, particularly when devotees are doing their soft repetitive chanting during prayer.
What stunning renovation...the color and attention to detail is phenomenal. I love it when you "experience" a place and it has a certain vibe that you can't even put into words to do it justice!
