I slipped a bit of black sheer nylon stocking (hosiery is another term for stockings, I think) over the lens to act as a kind of homemade filter. When I converted the capture to BW, I noticed the stocking gave a bit of a grungy look to the image. The texture wasn’t that visible when in its original colour state.
