Snowy Owl

This lovely owl was in her enclosure. All the captive birds are injured and could not live in the wild any longer. The VINS (Vermont Institute of Natural Science) has an hospital for wild birds and receives about a thousand of injured birds a year.

What a magnificent bird. I was fortunate enough to see one many years ago sitting on a fence post out in a field...of course it was waaaay below zero that day!! :) Haven't seen one since.
