The starlings were noisy this afternoon, I think getting ready for spring and the black headed gulls are getting their breeding plumage before we know it spring will have landed!!.
The temps were 9c with beautiful mellow sunshine, lovely for so early in January.

Thank you for all your comments, favs and get well wishes for the end of the month. Something I'm not ready for of wanting but being between a rock and a hard place I don't have a lot of choice if I want to try and stay on my feet. I will be glad when the 3 month plaster is taken off, not being able to swim is going to be so hard to live without more than other restrictions like a wheelchair!!
Well here I go into Year 5.....
A lovely capture of this well plump starling Sorry to hear you will be immobile from the end of the month I hope goes well for you . I will also be rather immobile I assume next month as I shall have A pre op assessment at the end ot this month for a complete knee replacement op -- I assume the beginning of feb I also dread the time in recovery !!
@beryl
Hi Beryl, I can help you there, you will be on your feet within hours and out before you know it. I was up and walking within 24 hrs and in order to get home you have to be able to negotiate stairs and bend your knee 45deg. I was home in 72 hours and out on a stick the next day, walking without it in 5 weeks and back to normal (for me) in 3 months then I did it again 18 months later, I have never regretted having them done and for me, yes they were a tad harder than my hip replacements which I have had 3 of but the pain relief is so worth it!! Have an uneventful op and recovery!
@craftymeg Thanks Margret it seems we can compare medical notes !! I have had both shoulder replacements and one knee replacement already I had terrible time with my knee still in my hospital bed 10 days later !! , back into hospital again with infection with a further 12 days in hosp with septicaemia !! -- so I did not have a very happy experience last time while others were home in 3 days -- so you can see why I am very apprehensive this time I just hope it will be trouble free this time . Thanks for your kind words and all best wishes to you ! :)
A lovely shot and I hope you get through your op without any problems. I am hoping this year I can be free of ops and hospitals but I'm pleased to say I think my eye op has been successful
Great shot -- lots of detail and character. I feel like I've missed something -- I hope it is elective surgery, and is so, may it go well and your recovery be speedy.
