Pitcher by craftymeg

Pitcher

A pitcher plant, found at my local Garden Centre. I've never made my mind up wether I like these or not, I think it's the thought of all those creepy crawlys they live on that puts me off!!
Nice on black

Thank you for all your continued support, comments, favs and get well wishes that spur me on.
I complete 2 weeks on Friday only another 6 weeks to go non weight bearing if all goes well. Then another 1 month plus in a walking cast if I'm lucky.

I'm hoping I have arms and wrists left at the end of it all, it's not much fun not having a leg to stand on[my other needs doing as well so I can't use it to put my weight through].

Moan over and the upside of it all is Mick has cooked some brilliant meals since I came home last week but he has told me he is quite happy giving me back the kitchen as soon as I am able to cope, I really don't know where I would have been without his help.
Anything that keeps the flies at bay is good to me.

Great shot and it is so cool looking. I don't know if I've seen a plant like that before.

It makes for a very cool image, but like you, I'm not sure about the plant itself. Glad the recuperation is going well so far, and that Mick is looking after you!

I have a love/hate feeling about this plant , but you have captured it so well with all the detail in colour and structure Pleased to hear all is going well so far for you and that Mick is worth his weight in gold as a chef !! Keep Smiling Margaret !

Oh I think this is the national flower of Newfoundland in Canada. We lived there for three years. I don't think I've ever seen them in the UK. Fascinating plants. Good luck with your rest and recuperation!

I am not too sure about these plants Margaret. I was looking at a display of them at the local garden centre and decided that the Venus Fly trap was slightly more attractive although I am not sure about the idea of them chomping away on the insects!! LOL!!
@busylady Judith I am going to Newfoundland with Louise and Ken @weezilou in June - any tips for places to go would be lovely.

By the way Margaret I hope you are up and about again very soon!!

My goodness these are quite amazing! I never would have thought they'd grow in a cluster like this! I, personally, love the notion that a plant will help rid the area of insects! They'd be welcome in my yard (if they'll share with my lizards!)

Great details and cropping. One of my friends really likes pitcher plants, like this one. I find them a bit creepy.

I like them best in someone else's yard - interesting to shoot for like you said but a little odd.

A very interesting plant .

Beautiful sharp capture. I would be dead weight in the kitchen if I were Mick. I can barely make a cup of instant coffee, so I suppose you are very lucky to have him around.

Great shot. I like the composition and soft colours.
