this Lilly Pilly tree produced a very good crop this year. This very large shady tree is in the park where I walk and doesnt seem to bear fruit every year.
@leananiemand yes they are but i have never tried them. Maybe next season. They are also known as Australian bush tucker. Here is a link to recipes which makes them sound pretty good
Beautiful colored berries and a great capture . There are not much purple berries . The only one I know is the Callicarpa .
Do n`t feel sorry you did n`t see the flower fields. There are not so many of them and hard to find. Most of the country is farming : Orchard`s, Blak berries bushes, Potao`s , grain and corn fields. Between the fields I`ve to drive by car often more than an hour.
I've never heard of them before!! Are the edible? I like their purple berries, wonder if the birds and other critters do too? Great composition and details! FAV!
the lillypilly berries are know as "Bush Tucker" they have a small seed in the middle and the birds love them. Here is a link to how you can cook with them and also other Australian Bush Foods. Hope you find it interesting. http://tasteaustralia.biz/bushfood/native-fruit/lilly-pilly/
