far, far away

what does a Nana do when her grandchildren live far, far away. Why she becomes a 'Granny' to children whose own Granny lives far, far away.
Such a sweet moment you captured here . . . and even more so after reading your description. I can tell you're a wonderful Nana and Granny. :-)

They look easy to love! I hope you give their mom the photos you take of them; they'll love it! (Thanks for dropping by with a fave!)

Very cute! So do your grandkids have a 'Granny' who lives close to them?

@seanna no sadly not. They are in the UK and their other Grandma lives quite near me. We are very good friends and catch up every week.

it is a beautiful moment you have just captured. Wish you were around when I was a child, I just never knew what a grandmother was - only someone who lived far far away

@ninaganci I had one Grandma here in Australia but the other one lived in England and I never knew her. I hope now with modern communication that my little UK grandson can get to know us almost as well as if he lived here.

@gaylewood @seattlite @cashew @teiko @yaorenliu @Weezilou @onewing @sangwann @pennystot

thanks everyone for your lovely comments. I always imagined I would have my grandchildren around me to share lots of things together but it was not to be so the next best thing is to find some children who dont have a granny. The same can go for Aunties too for that matter.

And I'm sure they love having you fill in for their granny too.

Adorable and lovely captured.

Sweet! We were surrogate grandparents to our next door neighbors (even though their grandparents were nearby) until they moved last year.

I am so sorry that you don't have your grandchildren near you. I only had my grandsons near me after they were in high school and they didn't care much about me at that time!! It is sad to miss so much of their growing up.

How gorgeous to be a nanny to provide a special relationship to these cute kids.

Super sweet and how great of them to be so well loved!

We constantly fight the water coming from three sides. In front , from the sea , at our back, by the rivers and from above, by the rain. In the past it was all done by windmills.

An excellent idea...shared recourses!

@stownsend I so agree. I miss the dahy to day things I could be doing with my Grandsons. At least we have skype every week.

@cjphoto thankyou Chris. I always imagined the things I would be able to do with my grandchildren but living far away it was not to be and we have to find other ways to connect with each other.
