one small hole by cruiser

one small hole

As my bumps and bruises are fading I went back to the library for my regular volunteer hours today and thought I'd check out why I had such a spectacular fall two weeks ago. The culprit was this 6" diameter hole in the bitumen. Took a few phone calls to determine who owned the car park but it turned out to be the local Council who, once notified, arrived almost immediately to fill in the hole. Now there is hardly a sign it ever existed.
Well if you lived in the UK you would be claiming compensation Chris! Not good enough & too late for you!

Wow no wonder you came a cropper. You will have to put up a plaque saying 'Chris woz 'ere'. Hope you are feeling better now.

Great outcome. Good thing you dont live in my city! Potholes everywhere, council has no money left to fix after quakes 5 years ago!

It is so good how efficient they were! Sorry about your fall but you did a good thing to prevent other people from having the same fate!

Well that's good that you were able to get them to fix it. A positive effect from your not so positive experience!

thanks for all your comments. We have a very good council where we live and as they have a service centre right in the library where I volunteer it was a very swift, smooth process. Thankfully I am on the mend now and feeling a bit more flexible :)

Fav. Lovely story and you have presented it very well. I am afraid in our city we have thousands of such potholes and with a high population and traffic the repairs are not good. So we learn to walk carefully and hope it works!
