frilly fungi by cruiser

frilly fungi

still on the lookout for fungi. This one was at the base of a big gum tree and I had to sit down on the ground to get a good look. Must have been a funny sight.
Ha ha must have been funny to shoot like that but you got a wonderful shot. I love mushrooms and do you forage them? When I go to the rural areas, we go foraging especially in the monsoons. There is a simple test to check if mushrooms are edible just soak them for 5 mins in a solution of 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder in a litre of water. If they turn blue they are poisonous discard them. If the color stays unchanged they are edible.

I would have loved to sneak a shot at you while you were down there concentrating on the fungus. Sometimes my wife says I'm going crazy. Love the clarity on the frills.

I've been searching for fungi, too. No luck. Too dry, I guess. At least I am enjoying your fungi shots! Great detail and exposure.

@anjalikoli we're not game to pic mushrooms around here just in case. I prefer to buy mine at the supermarket :) doesnt the turmeric make them go yellow?
