Today was mega hot!
So we decided not to head for the beach until later in the day.
A nice quiet relaxed visit to a national trust property was in order...
Felbrigg Hall was just a few miles away....
Ooops National Trust handbook was not in the car,
googled it
and hit the road
headed of down some narrow, very narrow lanes.
Oddly 90% of the traffic was heading in the other direction...
the lane ended up in a car park....
So we joined the 90% of cars going back down the lane....
Upon arriving at Felbrigg Hall we discovered that our visit coincided with a Chilli Fayre
and that half of Norfolk was there!
We looked at the church cross the fields.....
it was too hot to contemplate walking that far!
Inside the house was cooler.
After lunch we headed for Sheringham
but the clouds gathered.
A thunderstorm prompted an earlier than anticipated departure from the beach.
After the skies cleared we wondered down the main street and discovered pram Races in full swing.
it's not everyday you see someone sat on a toilet, being pushed down the main street, armed with a toilet brush.
The competitors certainly enjoyed themselves,
there was as much clowning as serious racing.
At one point one of the entrants dived headfirst into the wheelie bin they had fallen out of!
The toilet won the cup for the best entry,
and during the final race at least, the participants were pelted with flour and water....
