What's the point?

This evening we went to into town for the 7:14 prayer meeting outside the Town Hall, one of a series of prayer meetings taking place across the country.
As we were walking through town I took this photo of these large needle sculptures, which represent the town's heritage. The wall behind is the end of the library
nice color and lighting.

@minilou Yes, the red lighting doesn't help!!!
At one point Redditch produced 90% of the world's needles. We even have a museum dedicated to this! http://www.forgemill.org.uk/
When I was a child my aunt sent me an embroidery set from New Zealand. My parents suggested I looked where the needles came from, sure enough they were Milwards and locally produced.

Fascinating to read about the needles - and now the sculptures make sense! Great shot.
