Yes today is my birthday.
The day I was supposed to be born was my Father's 40th Birthday, but , as I told him afterwards I wanted my own birthday!
My Fathers Birthday was Candlemas. Over the years he often teased me as his birthday was usually dry cold and bright , whereas on mine it usually rained! So to have snow on my birthday is a very rare event!
First thing we headed off to the supermarket to do our weekly shop, looking at the skies as we went, wondering if it would snow before we got home. The supermarket was full of people panic buying ahead of the snow! It looked like every till was open with queues, and anxious managers prowled around.
We commented to the assistant how busy it was, and she said everyone is worried about the snow
"Oh it wont snow" we said
The shopper behind us pointed out the flurries of snow.....
and the rest, as they say is history.
I took this shot, because i liked the hexagon patterns on the car bonnet, which don't normally show up, but were made visible by the way the snow settled.
A few hour later and the small amount of snow is causing havoc on the roads. Where are the gritters?
Who knows?
Not here!
The big question is, will we get to church tomorrow, and how?
Strange isn't it? My birthday is on the 10th and it's seems quite common for me to have snow on mine :)
