Beautiful day!
After church and lunch we headed back to Shellford Picnic area, which we visited on Monday. This time it was over run by one or two large family groups. Abi didn't care she was a teen on a mission and off to explore. We hadn't taken Eve to a ford before. She stood at the end of the water, examining it critically, before declining to venture in.
However after watching Abi for a few minutes she soon changed her mind! We crossed the road many times, standing aside when cars appeared so she could watch and admire the waves they produced. meanwhile Abi decided to remove all the rubbish she could find from the river. Here she is about to hurl a disposable BBQ into a bank of weeds.
After a bit we moved on to Hanbury Hall so Eve could have some less closely supervised play and refreshments. We rounded off the afternoon by dropping in at Morton Stanley Park, so Abi could enjoy the teen equipment, whilst I took Eve off for more fun on a different slide.
