Today we went off on a church hunt heading for some interesting churches in the care of the Churches conservation trust in deepest Herefordshire.
We passed within sight of the church at Bishopstone ,which was not on our itinerary, but it looked interesting, so we diverted!
The church did not disappoint , it was a rural gem, with very interesting glass and stone carvings, but it was the reredos that impacted me most.
The British Listed Buildings website gives quite a lot of detail and refers to the reredos, but makes no mention of this section of intricate carving at the bottom.
Apparently, all the carved items are connected to the passion of Jesus.
I wonder what items you can see and how they fit in to the crucifixion
