Snow Drop by daisymiller

Snow Drop

I revisited the park before the next major winter storm starts. I didn't want to miss the blooming of the snow drops, the first flowering plant to bloom in my city. The snow drops are still in the bud stage. They are still one to two inches tall. Perhaps they will make it through the storm O.K. I added a painted look to this photo to match my mood about how I feel about spring, my favorite season. This shot is the first of my macro March shots.

This week we are supposed to work on focus and DOF. I placed my camera on the ground to get the shots of the snow drops, because they were so short. The day is really gray, so I added some contrast, highlights and fill light.
Beautiful close up ,pov and dof. Great try, well done

@pyrrhula Thanks! It was so cold that I shivered all the way back to my car. This photo was well worth getting chilled.

@archaeofrog I like snowdrops. They usually do well in the snow. However, we might get one to two inches (or more) of sleet and then heavy snow. I am not certain how they will do in that much sleet.

Great DOF - can't believe the snowdrops aren't flowering yet as with us they have been flowering from the start of February.
