July 21: The year is 1879.

Wouldn't it be cool if each building had the year they were built posted large and clear on the exterior?
We have a lot like this in Oamaru, NZ. They have historic significance even though the use they were built for is no longer! As long as I don't have to wear one going around!

@maggiemae It is interesting that Oamaru has lots of these. I would not like to wear my birth date around my neck either.

@pyrrhula Thanks! I always have problems finding the information in the archives. One of the local historians is writing books about various downtown districts. I can't wait until she writes about all of the downtown buildings!
