The Puddle by daisymiller

The Puddle

This is how the puddle looked in the cloudy morning. There was a piece of ice floating on top of the middle of the reflection of the utility pole. The ice was approximately 18 inches long by 8 inches wide. There was a submerged piece of ice just to the east (see the bottom half of the photo). This ice was approximately 12 inches long by 6 inches wide. In the afternoon, all of the ice had melted. I wondered if I should continue taking pictures of the puddle or wait until the ice formed again on the puddle. I felt like the "magic" had gone out of the puddle. Then, I started editing the photos I took of the puddle today and realized that it is still worthwhile to take pictures of the puddle. So.....the puddle series continues.
I think the ice piece really adds interest here as it breaks up the shadow. Cool!

I find the process of the melting quite interesting. Neat idea to follow it.

Just looking through your puddle shots, what a great project! Will you make a collage of them? Really interesting.
