I was surprised that I could take a picture of the downy woodpecker while it was on the maple tree. I guess it is getting used to me. At the first of the winter, it was very shy. I even had difficulty shooting a picture of it through the dining room window.
This is for the Flash of Red (2016) challenge. Practice using the Rule of Thirds, choosing one of the components of a good shot for your emphasis (pattern, shape, form, texture, line, or contrast). Pay particular attention to the lighting and framing in your images.
