Swelling tree buds are a welcome sight. Spring is coming. This BW image is for the Flash of Red 2016 challenge. This week, I am raising the exposure value and then processing the image to black and white. Look at how the tree branches, twigs and buds look after this was done. I am still amazed by how some parts of a photo subject look darker and some look lighter after this process is done.
@maggiemae This is what I thought too. I think that the light was hitting parts of the branches more than the other parts. This did not show up in color, but did in BW. The buds are the colorless blossoms that will probably open up next week when the weather is predicted to get warmer. This is bad news, because my allergies will then flare up.
Theres something about a bare tree in B&W that is very appealing and this looks great.

@sangwann Thank you. It is dry here too. There have been many fires due to the dryness. It looks like it is going to be a challenging gardening and farming year here.
