Gold Finch

The gold finches and the house finches are frequent visitors to the bird feeder.
A lovely capture -- they do love the niger seeds don't they !

These usually look just as peaceful as this one - nice close-up.

Shows the beautiful green colours in this finch - could be a green finch?

What a pretty close-up of the sweet goldfinch. The pretty, blurred background really emphasizes its beauty.

I think he is thinking - its a debate on whether to swallow this seed and grab another or just choke!

@beryl Thank you. I enjoy seeing the gold finch. I wish they would stay year round.

@milaniet Thank you. Yes, gold finches seem peaceful. The house finches fight each other at times.

@maggiemae This is a gold finch. The green color most likely came from me shooting through the window glass (the glazing on the window glass). Alas. We have no green finches here.

@janetb Thank you. I use a camera setting that is supposed to blur the background (DOF).

@linnypinny Thank you.

@saskiah Thanks. You should have seen the blurred pictures I took of this gold finch. He kept moving around in quick jerky motions.

@maggiemae Funny! I took this shot right when the gold finch realized that I was shooting pictures of him. He decided that eating the seed was more important than flying away in terror.

@pyrrhula Thank you. In my country, there are different kinds of finches, but I am only aware of one kind of goldfinch in my state. In my state, I know there are gold finches, house finches and purple finches. I rarely see the purple finches, as they stay mostly to the south of where I live. I wish we could have more finches here, as I like that type of bird.
