Today's word for dec12 is "red" and what could be easier for Christmas? After all, my second tree has all red lights on it! But, our church is doing a huge Purple Christmas this year. Today, the sermon series launched. I was there to photograph the kids with the (purple!) Santa! So, after nearly 900 shots between yesterday and today, I choose this one only to respect the privacy of the kids. It sure was fun! And I am beginning to like purple for Christmas (this coming from a complete traditionalist!!).
@orangecrush ha, Jerry, I hope you didn't recalibrate!! :-). I hear they had the suit made. We have a number of good seamstresses.
@dreams purple is a little unusual. It is definitely a royal color.
@pjonas might want to check out a sevice online a www.cbglades.com. You will see the church does things to bring in people who might not go to church. They have thought up this Purple Christmas theme. We have t-shirts we can wear around town. People ask all the time "what is a purple Christmas?". We can them invite them to church to find out. Last year, the goal was to invite 100,000 people to church. We don't yet know what will be revealed on Christmas, but it has been fun. It is non-traditional, for sure and I didn't know if I could accept it, but I have!
@purdey Thanks, Sharon! It has been very fun.
@chrismarfil Thank you, Chris!
