Sparkle by danette

Sparkle

Today's word is "sparkle". I chose a portion of the Village to share. The background has sparkly fabric. I find the close ups of the village very hard to capture, but I will continue to work on it.

To the right is a sign I made a few years ago to help support a section (where there is a will, there's a way!). I thought I'd make it functional as an entrance sign to a ranch and named it after my parent's cattle ranch when I was growing up. They didn't have dairy cows, they had beef cattle (mostly Santa Gertrudis), but my mom grew up in Wisconsin, thus the Dairy Farm building!
Such a festive capture!!

Great capture, and I like the sparkle off the lights at the top, too!

Soooooo neat about the ranch name, that's awesome.

Your work is awesome. Love the sparkly fabric and snow on the ground.

@ariel817 Thanks, Linda! The best part of a village is personalizing it.

@bardejov Thanks for your nice comments!!

Is this your creation or something you purchased?

@skipt07 The people/buildings are Dept. 56 Snow Village. The wooden structure (painted black) is built by my husband from 2x4's per my specs. The white is styrofoam. The bricks in the front are carved and painted from the styrofoam. Fabric is the background. Trees purchased. I made the =M Ranch sign. :-) Then I add textures (sand, etc.) and snow ("Real Plastic Snow"! Nothing but the best!!)

@purdey Thanks, Sharon. It's a lot of work, but I enjoy seeing it and we keep it up for a while.

@bardejov You asked before who gets to see the village. We'll have a party next weekend (we always get the Christmas party with these friends!) and we have my family over for Christmas. We keep it up until Super Bowl Sunday and have a party that day. If no one else saw it, I am happy to view it every night!
