The City of Pompano Beach recently upgraded their beach area. I liked the artwork of this handrail. Between the beach dunes and the parking lot, they put in a play fountain for the kids and an area of artificial turf (it looked very real). Everyone looked like they were having fun.
@skipt07 It was CRA money. Pompano is unique, I suppose. It has the higher property values by the beach and then some very run down, neglected areas. The town, as a whole, has little going for it. They have not been well run or upgraded themselves over the years. The area by the pier looks outstanding now. There is a new condo building which should upgrade the area. In some ways, I like some of the sleepy feel of it, but some areas (even by the beach) are not well kept. Other areas I avoid at all costs.
