We are at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando to see their magnificent decorations. Our room faces the back of this tree, so the view is just as pretty. How wonderful to walk around and feel like you are outside but have moderate temperatures! We saw "Key West", "St. Augustine" and the "Everglades" all in one walk. This is a beautiful place.
@squamloon Hmmm...probably not. Of course, the scale is considerably smaller than EPCOT. In the photo, you can see the large glass roof, which covers the entire atrium. When you are in the atrium, it appears that you are outside as the landscaping is quite lush. In the center is a replica of Castillo de San Marcos, which was built in St. Augustine in 1672. In different areas, they build it to look like a particular area. The Everglades area is rustic and full of cypress trees and water. There is even a "creek" with live alligators and turtles. All of the Gaylord hotels are like this in theory, but they represent the area where they are located. The Key West area has a boat "floating" in a small lake. There is a restaurant on the boat. I suppose they use a little Disney Imagineering, too.
Gorgeous. I love the Gaylord Palms. We had some real estate events here when I worked for CB, also my hubby usually goes to the Money Show here in Feb. Always an adventure to tour the grounds.
@cimes1 This was my first time at the GP in many years. The last time I was there, they had pretty much just opened. While I remember the boat in Key West, the rest seems to have been added since they opened?
