In The Garden by danette

In The Garden

"I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses

And He walks with me and He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known

He speaks and the sound of His voice
Is so sweet, the birds hush their singing
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing

And He walks with me and He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known

I'd stay in the garden with Him
'Tho the night around me be falling
And He bids me go, through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling

And He walks with me and He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known."

Beautiful song. Praying for God's comfort for you. Hugs.

Danette, this is a beautiful song that I've sung so many times myself and it always brings me comfort. I hope it will you too. This is a lovely picture....so soft and I love the sepia. God bless you.

This is a very beautiful shot and a lovely poem to go with it. I love the sepia tone of it, too.

@cindymc Thanks for your comments. Yes, I recently lost my dad. Has been harder than I thought.

That was one of my mother's favorite hymns. I asked a young lady, who attended our church at the time and who had a beautiful voice, to sing it at my mother's memorial service. Beautiful picture to go with the words!

Beautiful...soft image. Perfect for a wedding, I think!

@skipt07 This was one of my dad's favorites, too. It was supposed to play at the service, but a few songs got left off. No matter. It brings back memories of my childhood. I have been playing them on my computer.

This was always my favorite hymn and my mom's, too. She used to always tell me she wanted it played at her funeral. But at her age (102 1/2) there is no one left to attend a funeral only a few immediately family members. So will just be a graveside service. That's the problem with living so long, I guess. Lovely soft image to accompany the beautiful words.

...immediate (not immediately)

@cimes1 Carole, we had a beautiful graveside service with just family. My cousin (who is a preacher) spoke. I had started to tear up and with his first sentence, my whole perspective changed. Maybe you could bring music to the service and play it. I played a song from my phone to my dad's ear just before he passed. I hope he heard it.

@darylo Thanks so much, Daryl. I was love the way light comes through the window through flowers. Took me a while to photograph what I was seeing, but I liked the way it turned out.
