Established in 1828 (when my ancestors were nearby) and named after John Quincy Adams.
My ancestors did live in Quincy and surrounding communities for nearly a century. Sadly, I don't think any of them purchased Coca-Cola stock during the depression. A local banker convinced many in the community to do so and it made millionares out of many.
What a great old ad! Five cents for a bottle of coke. I remember when it costs just a quarter and you could get 10 cents back on the bottle. It sure tasted a whole lot better out of an ice cold glass bottle.
