I just love her! Today, our choir sang a full concert for Palm Sunday. Wow, it was phenomenal. This lady has such a powerful voice. You can hear her sing the song here (on another day).
@homeschoolmom Our church has about 7 services a weekend and only one (traditional service) has the choir. My husband sings in the choir. I usually only attend this service on special occasions. I know it takes a lot of work to manage one. It's too bad they have fallen out of favor.
@danette We have mostly gone to ultra contemporary churches the last 3 moves. We prefer contemporary music. But, I loved singing in the choir. It's a trade off. Your church sounds a lot like the mega church we went to in Indianapolis a few years ago. They had one traditional service complete with pipe organ, orchestra and choir. I went to that service once, but it was too early in the morning for me.
When we went to see the movie, "Secretariat" I was surprised in the scene where the groomsman was brushing Secretariat and they were playing the Edwin Hawkins Singers version of, "Oh Happy Days". That is one of my favorite spirituals!
