This is Karen, she's a colleague at work and a very dear friend.
About 7 months ago I managed to get her a job at HMV, she was thrilled at the chance and was literally thrown in at the deep end as Christmas was just around the corner. I do feel slightly guilty as, as you all know, we went into administration and i was worried about her losing her job. Thankfully we were saved and the company is on the verge of being reborn with the majority of jobs being saved.
Karen is loved by all her fellow colleagues and has been well received in a short amount of time by us and customers alike. A naturally bubbly person - which i think reflects in her eyes, and more than happy to let me take some snaps for today's shot. Hopefully, I've done her proud as I don't really have too much portrait experience!
Notice she's trying not to look at me as i was doing my utmost to make her laugh!!
@steampowered On the verge of introducing Photoshop to my computer but this is just a subscribed to version of Picmonkey. Thanks for the kind words matey :)
That's a great portrait, you have really brought out her character and her sense of humour. Love the colour gradation in this and the processing is really sympathetic. Pleased to hear about the jobs, it must be a great relief.
Such a relaxed and friendly portrait, so what were you doing to try and get Karen to laugh? I must go off and concentrate on trying some portraits, thanks for the inspiration...
