This photo was taken when I was working on a month of tracing 7 plants' spring progression from bud to bloom in March of 2014. Each week, I'd approach the same plant (hopefully the same bloom) to see where it had progressed one week later. I used my Raynox "Macro Clip" for almost all of the shots, attached with a spring mechanism to my kit 18-35 lens when I used my Rebel T2i all the time. The quality came out well for most of the photos, but the trick with the Raynox is holding my breath because focus happens by moving manually toward and away from the subject to get the perfect focus. I have cropped it in more tightly than the original and cranked the sharpness up a bit. I like the muted colors, all natural to the original, but I did try to make them more deep.
What a difference a crop makes!
Note -- I really like being able to see the original, so any links are much appreciated when you post one of your revisions.
The tighter crop works perfectly! Wonderful detail on the bud! I remember you doing this exercise especially the dogwood buds as I had never seen a dogwood before. Your monthly view was fabulous Daryl - such a great idea!
