Go Bold or Go Home

On my walk with my husband today, we passed a bunch of geese in one of the office parks I've claimed for walking (a labyrinth of 6 office parks in all). I kept note of some places I might like to take shots later, and drove by here to see if the geese were all gathered. They were, and boy did they have lots to say.

Not my lens. And not enough light really as it turned overcast as soon as I went out to use this one, but it looks like I cannot resist the urge to chase a bird as soon as I commit to another 365 project.

Edited in LR then tossed over to the old Color Efex Pro I loaded on my computer ages ago. I must learn PS this year. It's a must.
looks really good in mono

No surprise to see the bird form you! Excellent timing to catch it full wing though! they would intimidate me coming at me like this!

Excellent POV and timing.

Anthony Morganti's youtube channel is a good source of Photoshop instructional videos that cover a single feature, e.g. exposure blending, removing backgrounds, etc. His instructions are clear, easy to follow, and go step-by-step. He has both 'getting started' and 'intermediate' level instruction. https://www.youtube.com/user/AnthonyMorganti

@fotoblah Thanks! I only have my LR 5. I have never switched to the Creative Cloud collection as I hate subscription services, but I have a feeling it's time to do it. Also, I'm so afraid of losing all my old work and edits. I THINK I can get Creative Cloud through my daughter's college (it's free for them with tuition), so I'm thinking of saving some money in that route....

@darylo I feel your pain. I have a boatload of images in LR 5 and no interest in Creative Cloud. Once I upgrade my PC to be able to run the latest photo editors, I'll have to figure out how to preserve the LR edits and metadata (e.g. tags). So far the only way I've found to preserve edits (but I haven't been trying very hard) is export my LR images in DNG format. Some editors import the LR metadata, but the edits are an alien language to them.

@fotoblah Thanks for the recommendation of the online tutorials! I just watched a beginner one and found stuff I've never used!
