House Finch in the Cherry Tree by darylo

House Finch in the Cherry Tree

Right outside my office window is this amazing Cherry Blossom tree--you can see its buds are about to burst forth (when they do, oh, so, pretty). This house finch and his partner have been courting here recently. So I took his photo today (through a screen on my window, unfortunately--forgive the blurry effect). Oh, and this time, I set everything up right. My photo yesterday was in the end a "happy accident" with the blue hue--I had hit a button on the white balance that created the cool effect (unknowingly). Truth in learning--yep, that's what I'm all about.
So sweet :D Lovely shot :)

Thanks! I wish I didn't have a window screen on this window. May remove it for spring! :)

Wonderful shot, looks like he will match the blossom when it comes ( if it ever does).

@markp Thanks Mark! Oh the blooms will come soon--this tree will pop! Then when it is in full bloom, the wind will shake the petals off in full petal storms (like a snow storm). I sure do hope to catch it at least once! It's odd, another tree has already gone into bloom, but it may be a different variety because it's blooms are more pink than mine. The weather is still very cold, though. :(

I Lovely shot. The splash of colour in the blurred background enhances this wee bird. Very nice :)

@danitech Thanks Danielle--he really is cute! I have to get the screen off my window so I can take better shots of the two of them together (which was all day today!).

@jo13 He really does go with the tree, hunh? The pair are so cute. I'm right at the perfect angle too--screen goes off tomorrow, and I'll clean the window! I have a cherry tree to photograph from this window too! :)

@rennes Oh, Lisa, thanks so very much for the fav! I'm heading to Florida Monday, so I'm really hoping that I'll get some warm weather there (and some smashing shots!) :)

Fantastic shot and composition. Yes, get rid of that screen window. I got rid of the ones that interfere with my bird pics.

@judis Tomorrow a.m. It's coming DOWN! At least I hope I get to it...work and all. :)
March 27th, 2013
@darylo You mean you let a little thing like work get in between you and your photos and project 365? LOL
March 27th, 2013
@judis he,he!

This is a lovely photo - gorgeous colour (accidental or not) and the blurriness works!

Lovely shot Daryl.

@jewelsandbinoculars This color was intentional--the day before--totally accidental. I'm a bi-polar accidental/intentional photographer. :) The blur will be gone with the removal of that screen now!

@amrita21 Thanks so much Amrita. Your spring holiday has been making me think of color, so I think my cherry tree this season will really help. :)

:) Wish you colours all the way Daryl, cherry blossoms, colours of happiness, joy and fun-filled moments.....

Well don't they just go nicely together. Sweet capture.

@sailingmusic If only that screen wasn't there. They really do go together naturally!
