Today, I was successful in finding the name of a spider I caught--love researching in Google with things like "long body long legs spider Georgia." It took awhile (thought it might belong in the "crab spider" family), but started to figure out that it was something called a long-jawed Orb. When I got to this site: http://mobugs.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html, I found my spider! They are known for making "messy" webs--as you can see if you view large here. It's not the greatest photo, but I thought it was quite elegant with the legs. Caught with my Raynox 250 Macro Converter "clip."
Happy weekend everyone! I'll be out and about. Hoping to see if there is anything on the moth eggs where I saw them last Saturday at the soccer fields. I'd like to thank everyone also for the wonderful comments and favs on my African Lotus--it went to the PP. Made my day. It's one of my personal favs. Off to get some sleep! :)
@jodimuli@vskolnik@nanderson@cjainmd@photofella@taffy I'm thinking of how to make a book of the year--any ideas? @zenna Thanks so much for the comments! I'm falling in love with a part of the world I used to be oblivious or hostile to. :)
Wonderful capture! The colors and details are great. I am already thinking about an end of the year photo album of all my 365 shots, too. Don't know how to make that a reality yet so I will be checking back to see if anyone has any tips.
