Gosh, the day has slipped by and I've made a very bad decision to switch rooms with my daughter-she'll take my office and I'll move into her hot pink room for my office. Oh dear, I'm under a pile of junk--my office is a serious hot mess and I must complete the switch within a week (and yes, I just started back to work--blagh).
Clearing off the corkboard above my computer earlier, I saw this funny item. It's a postcard I bought years ago. I loved it because the "Daryl" is a woman. A rare thing. My dad didn't think it was so funny, though. :0
I'll try to edit in Picmonkey--this is not a "photography" day more than a "gotta get a shot done" day. :) Hope everyone had cracking good weekends.
I love the idea of Daryl for a woman! My husband's name (Greer) is usually a woman's name. I also love that you're moving into a hot pink room! A friend of mine just sent me an email about pink and all the great energy it's supposed to have - creativity, healing, high vibrations (whatever that means...) Good luck with the switch.
@lubybee Believe me girl, the pink in this room is really called "Pank" (with a southern drawl)--I painted it and the ceiling is even hot pink. I'm going to be all kinds of good in that room this year! hahahaha
@darylo -- and, regarding the office/room switch, I have to say that I never work in my office at home because it's merely a storage for office things. I work in the dining room, the sewing room, the library, the family room, the porch -- anywhere I can set up for awhile. In fact, my husband and I consider the whole house our office! :)
@jyokota I do work everywhere (including the soccer fields!), but when I'm editing and working on detailed things (grading essays in particular), I need the big screen of my desktop, which is always in the office. I'm working on an "outside office" setup too--hammock (wifi is there!). :)
@darylo -- Outside office is great! You can bring your camera and watch for birds at the same time, but you might need a table next to the hammock (I've never been able to get into a hammock even empty-handed) The only challenge is the glare from the light on the screen.
@jyokota I have a perfect foldup one to do it! We had a hammock last year and it worked. It's all moldy now, so have to get a replacement. I could also capture the changing of the seasons and bugs! :) The possibilities are endless. So nice to chat! I'm off to tackle the crud in my office. To keep all my grad school essays and such or not (what, ages ago). I could scan, but I'm too lazy. What to do????
@darylo -- let me know what to do . . . I have a big office at work and since I "retired" I am only guaranteed that space one more academic year. You can't imagine how much I have there. I moved there with 200 boxes of books almost a decade ago and I am absolutely sure I have twice that much now.
@jyokota I have decided to let go of the books. It may be the worst decision of my life, but my kids don't want them and we can find so much online. I am donating them all to good homes, but I know I'll be missing many of them. I'm just not opening them--they are almost like Gatsby's books (uncut).
@jyokota I can imagine. When we moved my father 3 years ago, I dealt with a huge book collection--in every room in ever corner, in every level--including the basement where they were in awful condition. I started culling from that moment just so I would not have to ever go through that again. I love my books--especially the ones I've written in for teaching. Love to see what I was thinking on the different revisits of the same text. I will miss it, but it's TIME.
