Spittlebug

Oh, it felt so good to grab my camera this morning to go outside to take a REAL photo! Oh, I had plans when I started--I was free of "moving" issues, and it was a beautiful day out--light = high shutterspeeds and whatever aperture I want! Woohoo! Then I turned on my camera and it said "replace battery"--OMG, I almost cried.

My husband said, "just use your phone on the camera." After I shot him my 1000 daggers look, I whined, "but I haven't been able to reaaaalllly use my camera for days now." Then, I got to thinking, I have a plug in my car for using multiple devices and I could use the car battery to recharge my camera battery while I took my daughter to soccer and then I'd sit for another few minutes to get some juice. IT WORKED!

So here is my macro clip shot of all these spit areas (insect, not human--just to be clear) on branches at the soccer fields--I can't tell if a spittlebug has been birthed within and sealed with spit or if it's just loads of spit from a spittlebug. 365 Nature people, let me know.

Can't tell you how much I missed really being on 365 with a goal of getting a good shot and stretching my camera skills. I had so much fun with manual today, I was beaming when I got home (it was scorching hot out there too!). Tomorrow, I'll get back to commenting. One last day of pre-school shopping and enjoying summer with kids, so I'm not going to be on, but whew, so happy today! My new pink office is the bomb too!~:)

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG OMG! I was just in the past week or so (maybe last weekend) trying to get a good spittle bug pic. I got an okay pic,but not like this. Mine was the tiny bubbles so it all looked white and then a dew drop coming off it. I did not post it. I had my Minions to babysit. hee hee This is the bomb! I love the soft focused green plant coming up, the clear drop and I think there is a bug in there. I only see the white frothy stuff. Instant fav for me as soon as I read what this was! Oh, how did you charge your camera batt with the car? I have USB hook ups in my car...but my camera batery charger is a regular ACDC plug. Do you have an adapter? I need one. Isn't it horrible to see that "battery flashing?" It doesn't happen to me much, but when it does. UGH!
