Tonight, I had a fabulous night going to Decatur to see a friend of mine participate in a fundraising event for Girls Rock Camp Atlanta. In a matter of two and a half days, women form rock bands, learn a new instrument, and create an ORIGINAL song to perform at a coffee house on the third night. These women come from all walks of life and geographic locations, and they rock! My friend played bass in her newly formed band called "Black Ice," and it was so much fun being there to support her and her efforts for this organization. You may recall from ages ago that I wrote about her daughter performing in Girls Rock Camp last summer (and that, folks, is when the HOTDOG narratives began! See: http://365project.org/darylo/365/2013-07-13).
After the show, I hoped to meet with an old friend--another musician who I adore and admire. He was free for dinner, and we sat in an upstairs bar eating hamburgers, tater tots, and fries, catching up on our lives. He even made me a CD of music--ah, I love that. It entertained me on the way home.
Which gets me to this photo and the other one I'll link you to for the night! I drove back by way of this location: Cabbage Town, near Oakland Cemetary (I ate dinner in Grant Park next to the "Six Feet Under" pub), KROG STREET "tunnel." This little underpass is famous for its graffiti, and I used to traverse it back in the day when I was a fearless gal. Tonight, the photos were taken from the car as a driveby. I'll be back at night with a tripod, but my nifty-fifty did pretty well tonight!
@grammyn@rvwalker Double points for all! ;) Ross, the sign and the sticker on the railing drew my attention (the sticker is not so obvious). I did take a shot of some more graffiti and may just upload that as a final one in the series for the night (without narrative to save the eyes!). :)
You and your nifty fifty did each other so proud on this shot!! Really well done but i have just one question @darylo exactly how long did you stop to get this shot may i ask?
@salemslot Hey Paul! This underpass has the elevated walk areas and columns between the two lanes (all also graffitied). I drove to the middle of the underpass, stopped for a brief second and took two shots before someone came behind me so I had to move on. Luckily, my other shot (also linked above, but in my "other" folder") I was at the traffic light, but only had a couple of seconds to get in two shots. This shot here surprised me because I framed it perfectly (no cropping) which is really odd for me. Also, because I shot in Raw, I could edit better (the other shot even more as it was really underexposed). :)
Wow wow and thrice I say wow.... well done for having the guts to do the shots in the first place. Mind you I would loved to have seen you try to explain what you were up to, to a officer of the law, now that really would be a great shot.... ;)
