One Week Later, Dogwood by darylo

One Week Later, Dogwood

Not much going on, but the stem parts (which are not very visible in this photo) are developing pretty well. The bud is opening slightly more. Cold weather has kept the flowering trees a bit back, but not the awful Bradford Pear. Hopefully I'll find the same bloom from last week. It's a bit hard and I'm not marking them as I should. I don't think it really matters. :) Will be off to shoot signs later in day if I can find one.

Here is last week's photo of same bloom (I think): http://365project.org/darylo/365/2014-03-08

And this evening, our whole family will see the Harlem Globetrotters! I saw them when I was my children's ages.

Oh, and one daughter succeeded in breaking her toe. So, the weekend has started off eventful. :/
beautiful focus on that bud and lovely soft background colours

Beautiful macro. This one is slower than the some of the other buds. That takes me back I saw the Harlem Globetrotters when they came to England when I had just left school .....years ago!! LOL!!

Busy weekend! I like the simple elegance in this shot -- and interesting to see it slowly opening.

I guess some of the Globetrotters I saw when I was a kid would be about 90 years old now. My favorite, Meadowlark Lemon is 82! Sorry about your daughter's toe. This dogwood will look a lot prettier soon.

@rvwalker Meadowlark Lemon was my fave too! Fyi, the globetrotters will be 90 in a coupleof years! My brother works for the company who just acquired them. Three generations in my family habe seen them now!

Such a lovely image! Beautifully captured! Love the Harlem Globetrotters...hope it was fun! Breaking a toe is so painful and yet nothing you can do for it but let it heal...and limp a bit! outch!

Lovely subtle promise of what's to come here Daryl. I never saw the Globetrotters actually play but I did stay at the same hotel in Germany when we first moved there in about 1991. Their sheer size was accentuated when sharing a small lift and I can still see my daughters face as she looked up and up until she reached the chap's smiling face! A nice memory.

@paulaw they are so nice. We got our ball signed after the game. Such great entertainer/performers/athletes. Nice to see that the brand has been around almost 90 years! Wow!
