Cooper's Hawk? by darylo

Cooper's Hawk?

Oh, I am so excited, and I am too exhausted to upload the whole nest of these hawks, but I haunt a regular spot everyday to see if I can catch birds. I've seen this hawk once before playing with some prey, but I had no idea that this hawk and the other parent had set up a nest. The story is long, and I don't have time, but I'll write about happening upon them when I get a chance. For now, here is the parent. I saw the other parent and at least one offspring (ready to fly from the looks of it). Oh, I spent a whole hour with my neck turned upward, waiting for the light to hit and playing with settings. Last night's nature photography talk at my photographic society was so inspiring, so this encounter was such a delight the day afterward. I have never seen this hawk before (except that other time, but I had no idea what it was). Hawk experts, feel free to chime in. More later...early tutoring appt. calls. Must get zzzzzz's

Wowy catch! Like the way he folded his wings. Wonderful shot.
Do you think he's contemplating about why England is 'out' and Holland's still 'in' ;) ?!
