Carousel

So glad I talked myself into taking my actual camera to Six Flags tonight with my daughter and our friends. Initially, I packed my backpack with too many lenses and then decided, nah, not doing this there. Then I said to myself, just take the kit lens (18-55)--you're going to want to take photos. I have to remind myself that the kit lens is a great lens for wide angles and for some ok distance shots. No, the aperture does not open up a lot, but it can take decent shots. This one was a miracle it came out as well as it did only because it was "handheld" balanced on the back of a rocking chair while the girls rode the carousel. The ceiling is in decent focus so I'm very pleased! Here are some alternate shots for the night: http://365project.org/darylo/didn-t-make-cut/2014-11-30 and http://365project.org/darylo/didn-t-make-cut/2014-12-01 A GREAT time here, which I can't always say for a major theme park. It was not very crowded, and the lights were pretty, and the hot chocolate helped when a chill came on! Oh, and we rode the rides at night--what a thrill. Back to school, and I better get to bed!
Cool movement!

Beautiful. These types of shots are not as easy as they seem.
