Yup, I like to grill and I'll do it in any weather, and today it was in lots of rain. Today's St. Louis styled ribs (spare ribs minus the "tips") were spectacular along with the "country" boneless pork pieces I put in the grill. Sides were grilled Dutch potatoes; cucumber, tomato, onion, and homegrown basil salad; and watermelon. Later, cupcakes with American flags stuck in them. We are all hoping the sky will clear for a fireworks display that we'll catch up at the local hospital (we have our own bench and everything!). Happy fourth to all in the US!
The Chef has been at work again, with interior designer touches as well! Happy Fourth . . . I'm sitting here listening to fireworks all around me but none visible enough to photograph.
Happy Fourth of July to you and your Family Darryl. America is so good at celebrations. We really only have Christmas and Easter and not that many people have a big celebration at Easter anymore. Your table setting looks lovely.
@jyokota Fireworks were set off in the clouds and we never saw them from our perch. We had some homemade ones we set off on our street, and I wish I had a photo of the little boys across the street peeking out the open windows to view the display--alas, weather was not going to cooperate. Are you back? Loving your photos.
@mothervic I usually celebrate at home--I'm not one for crowds very much. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of all--and it's the only one I pull out all the stops for it too. Christmas we have a gourmetten (or raclette) meal with another family, and our Easter celebration is pretty calm (I like Palm Sunday, myself).
@darylo -- yes, we came back July 2. But I leave on Saturday for Australia and New Zealand! I'm trying to get caught up before leaving again . . . only to get behind again while traveling, no doubt!
