Count the Cardinals by darylo

Count the Cardinals

My new lantern-styled feeder attracts all kinds of birds (chickadees, phoebes, titmice, brown thrashers, Carolina wrens, sparrows, finches, etc.), but the cardinals took over yesterday. Count how many you see in this shot!
Lucky you to have them coming into your yard! I like this composition -- the little pops of red, the snow on the ground, the closer look that shows one flying in and others that are more blended, and the textures in the fence and tree. Lovely image.

@pamknowler For ALL of year one, I never fed a bird because so many trees/bushes/flowers/fruit feed them year-round, but I got a 40-lb. bag of feed from someone for my birthday and no feeders. With the cold and snow, I think it was time to give them a break. The benefit to me is that I do not need to wait for 30-min to an hour to get great shots! :)

Wow! Fabulous. Such a beautiful shot with all of the red. What did you have in that birdfeeder?

Great shot - fantastic colours! Unfortunately we don't get anything quite so exotic at our bird feeder although we did have a woodpecker a couple of days ago

At least 6. I love the shot but also love the feeder. Where did you find it?

@catwoman2 I got it at Lowe's. Warning, the squirrels just today figured out access. Took a bit longer than my other feeder, but the birds rule during the day and the squirrels come before sundown to take over. :/ Here is the one from Lowe's: http://www.lowes.com/pd_417119-11986-DX111418_4294610469__?productId=4736898&Ns=p_product_qty_sales_dollar|1&pl=1&currentURL=%3FNs%3Dp_product_qty_sales_dollar%7C1&facetInfo=

Lucky you!!

What fun. Your bright red feeder complements the birds; at least the males.
