Went to the Dogwood Festival with my mother on a beautiful day and saw lots of great photography and mixed media pieces. I even bought a nice bamboo fabric shirt for my trip to Japan and Bali -- light and pretty for evenings eating out or such.
All good things sort of come with bitter pills, and as we exited Piedmont park, where the event was held, this man and a woman were shouting at us about how Fags, and Sinners, and Abortionists, and whatever populations needed to repent and get right with God.
Well, I guess I'm going to hell. And in the end, if that's the place I go after death, other than the actual ground or spread across the waters or in a coffee can (I am actually going to "burn" at some point), well, so be it. I don't believe in hell as much as I don't believe in heaven. It's not a statement of being against the concepts. I just don't think they exist other than as a metaphorical mental space to help cope with the loss of a loved one, and that loss is very palpable and painful--so I don't mind even imagining a heaven in the end.
I actually come pretty close to hating people like this man. I rarely hate, but since he spreads hate in the name of Jesus, I must admit, I really feel hatred, just not like he does. So forgive me? It might be what JC would do.
Love the photo on his sign...pretty. So, he was an unkind one? That's a bummer! Some are nice about it. I find nice more effective in convincing than nasty.
I've been going to hell several times...I love the rabid ones as they just can't seem to understand how "un-christian" they are...anyhoo...best I not get started on that one!
Great contrast in colors, well composed image. Too bad he didn't learn the song, 'And they'll know we are Christians by our love...." This would be a great poster for a class in how to drive people away.
@pamknowler Well he does have his left pointer finger on GOD. Haha. I intentionally took the clarity slider all the way to the right on his face and arm just to show him exactly as he is... LOL
I am so with you on this. These people manipulate the Bible to say what they want, and they spread intolerance and hate. I strongly dislike any people who do this, quoting some religion to back them up.
