My tumor is removed, and this is it with the mirror mechanism on my phone's editing studio. It allows you to take a part and mirror it.
It may seem gruesome, but I asked my surgeon to take a photo of my tumor--She took the photo on a textured cloth. If you look closely, there are faces, and bodies in this tumor (or maybe it's still the anesthesia in my system).
The mass was quite large, 13cm (5+inches) and at least 5cm deep. I have a drain in my back that is somewhat ghoulish, but I don't plan on going anywhere until it is hopefully removed Thursday. Then Monday, I see the surgeon again. Since no one has called me to report any bad pathologies, I'm hoping that means that it is just a benign lipoma as suspected.
Yesterday, I was so woozy, then hungry, then tired, then awake, awake, awake worrying over the drain. I even called the surgeon in the middle of the night because I thought it was not working. It turns out it was not properly "accordianed" (it has three springs that you clamp down to provide the proper suction).
Today, I'm a bit sore, and I'm hoping that with one pain pill for tonight, I'll get the sleep I need. At least I can move around, and for that I am thankful.
Thanks for all the well wishes. I have one more artistic take on the tumor. Thanks to my surgeon Dr. Parkhurst for the photo. :)
agree with Lisa - a very cool picture - and strangely it is very photogenic and not at all gruesome - would not have known what is was without your description - I first thought ethnic jewellery or a leaf - just stumbled across your site and wish you a speedy recovery
@handymaurice thanks Haydn! Always love visitors. I wish I was more active in this third year attempt, but life gets in the way sometimes. Still, I love being here and plugging along!
Oh, so glad to hear you are doing better. And what a bait and switch -- I was thinking "cool abstract" and then read your note! That was a biggie -- and you know if it were bad stuff, you'd have heard by now. I think the image is an homage to 'creating under the influence' -- hope all the drugs are out of your system and you are feeling great by the time you read this!
I love your quirky way of making art out of pain! i feel certain your were a trooper for the challenge! Beautiful image for such a mundane subject! FAV
