It was like a big orange/red pain au chocolat. Or a baked potato? There is a big dent in my back...
From my other entry:
My tumor is removed.
It may seem gruesome, but I asked my surgeon to take a photo of my tumor--She took the photo on a textured cloth.
The mass was quite large, 13cm (5+inches) and at least 5cm deep. I have a drain in my back that is somewhat ghoulish, but I don't plan on going anywhere until it is hopefully removed Thursday. Then Monday, I see the surgeon again. Since no one has called me to report any bad pathologies, I'm hoping that means that it is just a benign lipoma as suspected.
Yesterday, I was so woozy, then hungry, then tired, then awake, awake, awake worrying over the drain. I even called the surgeon in the middle of the night because I thought it was not working. It turns out it was not properly "accordianed" (it has three springs that you clamp down to provide the proper suction).
Today, I'm a bit sore, and I'm hoping that with one pain pill for tonight, I'll get the sleep I need. At least I can move around, and for that I am thankful.
Thanks for all the well wishes. I have one more artistic take on the tumor (photo before this one). Thanks to my surgeon Dr. Parkhurst for the photo. :)
Daryl, I think this must be the ultimate " What have you done to get a 365 shot". To remain calm and cool enough to ask your surgeon to take a shot for you to put on here, while you are waiting for your operation is awesome. That is true 365 dedication.
Joking apart hope you are soon feeling better, and wishing you a very speedy total recovery.
@grammyn Not back to old self, but I will be ok in a few days. Once the drain is out, I'll be a bunch happier. That will be noon tomorrow (fingers crossed).
I've obviously missed some posts. I had no idea you were having surgery. What an ordeal. So glad you're through the worst. I wish you a speedy recovery!
