Over the years I have taken a photo of my bed side lamp. The earliest versions of the bedside lamp came because I had failed to take a photo for my Daily Journal, which I used to always keep up with for 2 years, and I needed to get a shot to keep the project true to form. But after that the bedside table has become somewhat of a repeating theme for me when I am sick or recovering with bed rest.
And now is another one of those times. Yesterday, I picked up a sock while I was talking on the phone with someone, and I felt a weird feeling in my back. It's the same feeling I get when I overdone things like clean too many bathrooms bending down or lifting heavy objects for too long. But this time my efforts to stretch my back out to feel better did not work. In fact Within a half hour, I was not able to walk at all and the pain was excruciating. So now I'm on my back, icing my back, heating my back, taking ibuprofen every 6 hours, and praying that this problem goes away soon. I can't get up without my husband Lifting me and taking me as he bolsters me under my arms like I'm a puppet. I'm a little scared. But I do have friends who have been through this and they are offering advice while I wait for the doctor to call me back. This is a difficult time and I hope I'll get through it. positive thoughts and prayers are welcome.
I am glad you are checking with the doctor. Friends with similar experiences are great comfort but I believe should not be relied upon solely as not always the same for everyone.
Oh no Daryl! I can sympathise as I am just recovering from a back problem. The ice sounds like a good idea to ease any inflammation. Hope the doctor has good news for you! Lots of positive thoughts and prayers winging their way over the pond to you! Big hug xx
@joansmor one friend is a physical therapist and she has helped untl I can get a Dr. to respond (still waiting). I'm not going anywhere because I can't. This is pretty awful.
Yup, totally missed this. It was in the part of my feed that just disappeared on Monday. I am so sorry to hear about your back. Been there, done that and I know how painful it is.
I like the idea of a bedside lamp series -- but so very very sad to hear why. I used to have sciatica problems and one movement would suddenly cause instant searing pain -- and I wouldn't be able to move! I'd be stuck in that position until the pain meds kicked in. Oh, do take care, Daryl! I wish I lived close enough by to at least come over and keep you company.
