She's had a very good offer at UGA (Honors Program), but today's acceptance marks the moment she got into a "school of her own choosing." She's been accepted into GA Tech's School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. We have four more college decisions to go, but we celebrated downtown with sushi and then drove all over the campus.
@jgpittenger we are fortunate to live in the state of the #3 engineering school in the nation for chemical engineering. If Kira decides to go here, she also attends tuition free as long as she maintains a certain GPA. All good news, except she'd like to leave our state (which I totally understand).
Fantastic!!! Doesn't get better than this so no matter what the future brings, she's got a great school to call her alma mater some day. I suspect she'll have many choices.
What a beautiful girl your daughter is growing into and so clever too! A winning combination Daryl! May she be successful in whatever she chooses! But most of all I wish her happiness!
@danette@brigette@rosiekerr@alophoto@jgpittenger@silverhorn@calm@taffy@dibzgreasley@pamknowler@newbank@hermann@joansmor@jamibann Many thanks for your congratulations messages! It is so nice to know we have one institution that is a "perfect fit" except for being in the state she'd like to leave, but at least it's in the city where she can explore and feel like she is on her own! The campus is amazing. The school is amazing. The opportunities are amazing. Win, win, win. :) We still have 4 more notifications to go through, but none will be as financially viable if she gets in, so this has us all breathing nicely knowing if she goes here, she will graduate close to debt free.
